If you, like us, are a fan of this understated tower of beauteous power on the edge of Kreuzberg than no doubt you've been horrified by recent reports from Architecture in Berlin & Slab-Mag (or is that Slub-Mag?) as to its ongoing uglification at the hands of BerlinHaus Verwaltung GmbH. While we usually nurture a delicate connoisseurship for all things hideous & ungainly - the transformation of the generous understatement of Hedjuk's vision into the farcical imaginary of real estate developers (“tasteful living”, “apartments in Bauhaus style”) along with the reworking of restrained green details into a shade of hysterical pink emphasizes everything objectionable about the current direction of development in our fair city. As news of the outrage has been communicated across the land the pink purposed perpetrators seem to be reconsidering their options - so, if you haven't already, please add your name to the list of those who are "mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore!"
and much gratitude to all those who have stood up for our humble greenish friend.
