Work has begun on Berlin's newest park at the former railyards of Gleisdreieck. Artful renderings - like that above by Atelier Loidl - already have us dreaming of picnics on the railbeds and cinema beneath the stars next summer.
I'm abroad - catch one of these openings this weekend for me:
Aedes am Pfefferberg - The Third Space: A spatial Installation by students of the Academy of Arts Munich. - Seven Labyrinths from Madrid: Spaniard Begoña Diaz-Urgorr curates an architectonic labyrinth-experience. - and of course! the Inauguration of Aedes Network Campus Berlin!
Bombardier's Bauhaus inspired Flexity Berlin will begin replacing BVG's long serving Tatra-Bahn trams this Autumn. The sleek new design boasts improved accessibility for the disabled and...wait for it...air-conditioning!
as we are quite obsessed with Berlin and its ever evolving cityscape, we gladly welcome any tips, pics, or quips regarding the city's urban planning, lack thereof, construction / destruction, or such demolitions or discoveries that our readers would care to toss over the transom.
